FAQ: FAQ

What are the cows fed at the Gaushala?

Our cows are taken for grazing on the hills around the Gaushala. The hills are full of various indigenous plants which keep the cows healthy. Other than this the cows are also fed fresh fodder in the Gaushala itself. Furthermore, the cows are fed grains, bhakri, jaggery, dry fodder, natural nutritional supplements based on seasonal requirements. There is a separate area for the cows to drink water from.

Our aim is to provide the cows with the most natural and unadulterated feed so that the cows remain healthy throughout the year without need for medical attention.

What methods are used at the Gaushala to keep the cows healthy?

We believe in the age old traditional methods to nurture our cows. We apply Neem oil on the cows' back to maintain their body temperature and avoid flies. We apply Turmeric on the cows' external cuts and bruises. The cows are provided Neem leaves, jaggery and rock salt to maintain the body minerals. To maintain the hormones of the cows, we feed them Shatavari and Ashwagandha with Bhakris.

Even in case of mild ill health of any cow, we try to use age old Ayurvedic and Homoeopathic remedies to bring the cows back to excellent health.
